North Star Homecoming

Stoystown Volunteer Fire Company was proud to be part of the homecoming parade in Boswell this evening! Thank you to everyone who came out to support the community, cheer on the students, and celebrate this special tradition.
Congratulations to all the students, athletes, and school community on a great homecoming!

9/11 Flight 93 25th Anniversary Standby

Today, we pause to remember and honor the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the countless families, first responders, military members, and communities forever changed by that day. As a fire company serving a community close to the Flight 93 National Memorial, we are honored to support our neighbors and fellow first responders. Today, our volunteer members were on standby to support the efforts at Flight 93 National Memorial as our community gathered for this morning’s remembrance ceremony.

We remember the 40 passengers and crew of Flight 93, whose courage and sacrifice became an enduring part of our nation’s history. We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, military members, and ordinary citizens who answered the call on a day our country will never forget.
It is a privilege for our volunteers to serve, stand ready, and support our community on this solemn day of remembrance.
 
We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

We are incredibly proud of one of our members, Ayden Boyd, for participating in the 9/11 Stair Climb at Beaver Stadium today.
Climbing in remembrance of the brave firefighters, first responders, and all those whose lives were forever changed on September 11, 2001, is a powerful way to honor their sacrifice and keep their memories alive.
We are proud to see him take on this challenge and represent our organization, along with the Alpha Fire Company with courage, strength, and respect.

House Fire

10:18am RE604 responded to assist Central City with a working house fire on Bunker Hill Rd in Shade Twp. 26-328

Vehicle Accident, Vehicle into a Porch

08:20am Vehicle accident, vehicle into a structure located at 3429 Whistler Rd. RE604 arrived and found no injuries and the vehicle into the porch. Responding units RE604, FP604 and Attack604. Hooversille Fire was cancelled. Somerset Ambulance was also on scene. State Police investigated. 26-326

Vehicle Accident Car vrs Coal Truck

11:34am Two vehicle accident involving a coal truck and a passenger car on Rt30 east side of Stonebridge Hill. No injuries on scene. Responding units RE604 and FP604. Assisting on scene was Somerset Ambulance and Boswell Fire. State Police investigated. 26-322

Fire Alarm

1:46pm Dispatched to assist Shanksville with a fire alarm at 892 Skyline Rd., Flight 93 Maintenance Building. Units were cancelled. 26-323

Fire Alarm/Appliance Fire

2:19pm

Station was dispatched to a automatic fire alarm located at 317 W Main St Stoystown Borough. Chief604 arrived and had normal conditions on the outside however, the alarm was sounding. Chief gained access and found smoke conditions and upgrade to the first alarm assignment. The smoke was found to be from a wooden cutting board on top of a flat top stove that had gotten turned on accidently sometime before the homeowners had left. RE604 crew removed the item to the outside and extinguished the fire. Crew also disconnected the stove and checked for extension. There wasn’t any extension. Crew also ventilated the smoke from the house. Mutual aid departments were cancelled. Thankfully the homeowner had a fire alarm system which proved to have saved further damaged. 26-317

Vehicle vrs Deer

7:15pm Crews responded to a vehicle accident unknown injuries on Rt30 just west of Rosenbaum Rd. Crews arrived and found one vehicle involved. No injuries other than the deer (buck). Crews sirected traffic around the accident until the vehicle was removed. Units responding RE604, FP604 and Assistant604. 26-310
